Put the given values of x and y in given equation

R = 6x + 3y

14 = 6 × 2 + 3y

14 = 12 + 3y

14 - 12 = 3y

2 = 3y

2/3 = y

Hope it helps.

The value of y is equal to \dfrac{2}{3}.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have,

R = 6x + 3y                     ........... (1)

To find, the value of y in simplest form = ?

Put x = 2 and R = 14 in equation (1), we get

14 = 6(2) + 3y

⇒ 14 = 12 + 3y

⇒ 3y = 14 - 12

⇒ 3y = 2

⇒  y = \dfrac{2}{3}

∴ The value of  y = \dfrac{2}{3}

Thus, the value of y is equal to \dfrac{2}{3}.
