GIVEN:-

sin = a/b

FIND:-

Value of cos∅

SOLUTION:-

We know that ,

sin²∅+cos²∅=1

=> a²/b² + cos²∅ =1

=> cos²∅ = 1- a²/b²

=> cos²∅ = b²-a²/b²

=> cos∅= ✓ b²-a²/b²

=> cos∅ = ✓ ( b+a)(b-a)/b
