Given that sound travel in air at 340m/s find the wavelength of the waves in air produced by a 20Hz sound source if the sound source is put in a water tank what would be the wave length of the sound waves in water Given speed sound in water 1480m/s

in water ν/c=λ
1480/20=λ
74m=λ
in air
340/20=λ
17m=λ

Hi.
Speed of sound in air(c)= 340m/s
Frequency of sound(f) = 20Hz
Acc. To formula, c = f × wavelength
Wavelength = 17 m
Now, if sound vibrates in water,
The speed ofsoundd will be = 1480 m/s
Therefore, wavelength of sound in water = 1480/ 20
= 74 m
Frequency is taken as 20Hz beacuse frequency never change as it depends upon the source.
Hope it helps u.
