Polynomials

Formula.

  • If a, b, c be the zeroes of a cubic polynomial, then the polynomial is given by

  • f(x) = (x - a) (x - b) (x - c)

Solution.

  • Given, two zeroes are 0, 0.

  • Let a = b = 0.

  • Let the other zero is c.

  • Then the polynomial is given by

  • f(x) = (x - 0) (x - 0) (x - c)

  • = x^2 (x - c)

  • It shows that the other zero can be any c which belongs to the set of Real Numbers or Complex Numbers.

  • The exact value of c has to be determined by other given conditions.
