Given the dimensions of the following polygons, find the area of each of the following.
(a) Triangle of base (2x-2y) units and height (x + y) units
(b) Rectangle of sides (4a +5b) units and (4a-5b) units
(C) Square of side (5a + b) units
[Hint:Area of triangle 1/2 * Base x Height]

(a)

Area of triangle=1/2*b*h

=1/2*2(x-y)*(x+y)

=(x-y)(x+y)

=(x-y)^2

(b)

Area of rectangle=l*b

=(4a+5b)(4a-5b)

=(4a-5b)^2

(c)

Area of square=side^2

side=4a-5b

Area=(4a-5b)^2

Answer:

Area of triangle

1/2×b×h

1/2×2x-2y×x+y=2x is answer

Area of rectangle

l×b

(4a+5b) (4a-5b)

a+b ×a-b=a²-b²

(4a) ²-(5b) ²

16a²-25b²

Area of square

4×side

4(5a+b)

20a+4b
