Given the following equations:
(i) 2 A3+ + 3 B → 2 A + 3 B2+ doesn't go
(ii) 2 C + D2+
→ 2 C+
+ D goes
(iii) B2+ + 2 C → B + 2 C+ doesn't go
Arrange the elements A, B, C, and D from the strongest to weakest reducing agent.

The correct order for the given elements from the strongest to weakest reducing agents is :

A>B>C>D

Explanation :

Since the 1st reaction  does not go , we see that B can not reduce A from the 1st reaction because the oxidation state of A changes from +3 to 0 and oxidation state of B changes from 0 to +2 .

C can reduce D as seen from 2nd reaction and C can not reduce B from 3rd reaction .

So , from the these conclusions we get that :

A reduces B ,

C reduces D  and

B reduces C

So, reducing power order is as :

A>B>C>D
