Given : the right triangle ABC with right angle B, angle A is twice the size of angle C. the measure of side AB is 7 units,

To Find :  the measure of side AC

Solution:

Let say ∠C  = x°

=> ∠A  = 2x°

∠B = 90°   given

∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180°   ( sum of angles of a triangle )

=> 2x°  + x° +90° = 180°

=> 3x°  = 90°

=> x° = 30°

∠C  = 30°

Sin∠C  = AB/AC

=> Sin30°  = AB/AC

AB  = 7 units

=> 1/2  = 7/AC

=> AC = 14 units

measure of side AC is 14 units
