Given three 30 ohm resistances. How would you connect them to give a total of 90 ohm, 10 ohm, 20 ohm and 45 ohm resistances?
Explain.

Answer:

all three resistance in series connection

R = 30+30+30 =90

R = 90 ohm

all three resistance in parallel connection

1/R = 1/30+1/30+1/30

1/R = 3/30 = 1/10

R = 10 ohm

two in series and one in parallel connection

R1 (in series) = 30+30 = 60

R2 = 30

1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2

1/R = 1/60+1/30

1/R = (1+2)/60

1/R = 3/60

R = 60/3

R = 20 ohm

two in parallel and one in series connection

1/R1(in parallel) = 1/30+1/30 = 2/30 = 1/15

R1 = 15

R2 = 30

R = R1+ R2

R = 15+30

R = 45 ohm
