1: iron has higher melting point than water .iron melts approx 1500°c and boils at 3000°c.

2: iron almirah particles are more tightly bounded than water.as water particles are not tightly bounded so due to this it slips in surface.

a) water freezes at 0° and vapourises at 100° but the room temperature is between 22° - 45° which means that the water will be liquid
b) melting point of iron is very high as compared to room temperature therefore it is solid.
