Question:

x:y=2:3

y:z=4:7

Then to find x:y:z

Answer:

x:y = 2:3 ------(1)

y:z=4:7 ---------(2)

For equating y in both the equations (1) and (2),

equation (1) multiply by 4 and equation(2) by 3

x:y=8:12

y:z=12:21

Therefore x:y:z = 8:12:21.

If we make a variable value same we can equate it.

hope this helps u
