Answer:

we can simply say normal force is the base of friction

if we apply more normal force more frictional force

for example, if u place an object on  a vertical wall (any thing) u would applu force against the object(object apllies force on wall) and wall applies same force on object known as normal force which cancels the force we applied

but gravity is pulling the object downward ...but our force cannot oppose that..

then their comes friction which opposes the motion of the object downwards..

but we can see if we apply less force against wall the object will go down that is gravitational force will be greater than normal force

so we will say frictional force is prop to normal force

if the the wall is perfectly smooth we can never hold the object aganst wall however force we apply against the wall
