Answer: 1) The hockey pitch is rectangular in shape. The longer perimeter edges are called the side line, the opposing shorter edges are referred toe back line and the portion of this between the goal posts is known as the goal line.
2) The umpire will issue an official warning to a player by showing the green card. Prior to that, the player would probably have been given a verbal caution. A yellow card means you will be off the pitch for five minutes or more. A red card is given for more serious offences and sees the player leave the match for good.
3) Throw-in: when the ball has entirely crossed the touch line; awarded to opposing team to that which last touched the ball. (Law 15). Goal kick: when the ball has entirely crossed the byline having last been touched by an attacker; awarded to defending team.
