Glen Davis is shooting free throws. Making or missing free throws doesn't change the probability that he will make his next one, and he makes his free throws 74, percent of the time. What is the probability of Glen Davis making none of his next 4 free throw attempts?

Given: Percentage of free throws = 74%.

To Find: Probability of next 4 free attempts

Solution:

Since, there is a free throw 74% of the time, thus, the time he misses = 26% of the time.

To miss four in a row, it is requires to miss the first throw, the second throw, the third throw and also the fourth throw.

Thus, the probabilities of Gien missing will be multiplied.

Using the probability formula -

P ( MMMM) = 26/100 × 26/100 × 26/100 × 26/100

= 456976/ 100000000

= 0.00456

Answer: The probability that he will have next 4 free attempts is 0.00456.
