Explanation:

What is Global Warming?

Global Warming is the average increase in the Earth's surface temperature due to the presence of some Gases which trap heat coming directly from the Sun.

What are the greenhouse gases responsible for Global Warming?

Water vapours, methane and ozone absorb great quantity of infrared radiations. However, carbon dioxide is the worst offender. Its concentration is increasing in atmosphere by burning fossil fuels in home, industries and vehicles.

What are the effects of Global Warming?

If the rise in Earth's temperatures follows the current trend, it will have disastrous impact in the near future. Melted-down snow will raise sea-level and increase flooding; extreme weather events like floods, hurricanes, tsunamis etc. are likely to increase.

Tips to reduce Global Warming --

1. Reduce dependence on private vehicles. Use public transport or car pool.

2. Turn off lights, equipments and other electronic devices when not in use.

3. Play outside and spend time with friends in person rather communicating or playing through gadgets and computer.

4. Plant tree which would consume carbon dioxide and will give oxygen for all.

5. 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle'. It can be applied to a number of things we daily use.

6. Use CFLs and LEDs which greatly reduce energy consumption as well as money.

7. Go vegetarian and reduce dependence on dairy and non-veg products which are responsible greatly for carbon emission.

8. Avoid using processed/pre-packed food and bottled water.
