Glucise + alchohol why the cant say as acid

Glucose + alcohol on dissolution in water do not mix up to form ions.According to Arrhenius any substance on dissolution in water that release H+ ions is called an acid.Since Glucose+alcohol do not form H+ ions in water they cannot be called as acid.
