Answer:

There is a very famous saying that the role of pen is mightier than that of the sword. But unfortunately there are people who do not agree to the saying and believe that the use of force is necessary. The pen is used to express ideas and the sword stands for force. It is forcing your own views on others. If somebody does not accept those views they must be forced by the use of the sword. The sword, therefore, implies force, not reason. The statement really means that ideas have more influence than violence. The sword can only destroy, but the ideas that are expressed by the pen can also build. The pen is thus preferred of the two. But the sword has its own uses. In this world one does not only come across good, sincere, honest and responsible people but also meet people who are mean, dishonest and unreasonable. No argument convinces them and no eloquence can persuade them either. Thus, for such cases it can be said that where arguments fail, the use of sword becomes obligatory. But this does not mean that the use of the sword is desirable and appropriate. Most of the time sword has been misused. History also gives example of how kings and generals owed power and used it to oppress the people. So whenever a man has been given sword for good purpose, he has intentionally or unintentionally used it for an evil purpose. No doubt a pen is much more influential than the sword. People believe that a pen cannot hurt anyone, where as a sword can kill someone

if it is not used appropriately. Looking from one perspective, a pen might seem not to do anything important if we simply see it as an object but a pen can be a powerful weapon if we find out the hidden potential of it. However, what matters the most is not the pen itself, but the words that are written by it. As history and facts have revealed, the impacts of wars cannot last lifelong except a very few. It can last for a few centuries, at most but the impact books...

Answer:

Gluttony kills more than the sword.”

“There are more gluttons than alcoholics in the grave.” This certainly seems true today.Regardless of whether or not this is something you struggle with, I’d encourage you read about this heart –rending look at a sin that is commonly glossed over within the church and inappropriately understood by the world

Sometimes, during the holiday season, or after some big meal, someone will jokingly say, “I hope the preacher doesn’t preach on gluttony.” At other times, I have been accused of “not preaching on gluttony” or “not condemning gluttony” when this is not the case. When I have preached against such sins as smoking, drinking alcohol, and other things, some who try to justify their sins will ask, “People today are also guilty of eating too much, so how about preaching on gluttony? Isn’t that a sin, too?”Friends, Gluttony is a sin. What we fail to recognize is that the sin of gluttony encompasses more than merely eating too much at a meal. It is indicative of a wrong attitude and a wrong manner of life that needs to be corrected.

When we take the time to define the word “glutton,” we see that merely thinking of gluttony as being guilty of eating too much does not give us an accurate picture of what God is saying. Yes, there are passages which condemn eating too much (as an example, If you find honey, eat just enough—

too much of it, and you will vomit.

When we use food or drink in a way that injures our health or impairs our mind, we are guilty of the sin of gluttony. King Solomon, a man familiar with feasting and abundance, advises, “Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobles, and your princes feast at the proper time—for strength and not for drunkenness!” . We should eat food primarily at meal times and for strength, not satiation.

However, “gluttony” is far more than that. Overeating is but a symptom of the larger problem of laziness, of being idle, of having a sense of entitlement, having loose morals, and being unrestrained. All of these actions are condemned by God in Scripture, and are all included in the word “gluttony”! Once we know this, we must examine ourselves to make sure that we are not gluttons. Truly, this is just another example of how we who are Christians must live in the world, but cannot be like the world.

A glutton in the world is directly compared to a person who lacks self- control for example, like a city whose walls are broken through

is a person who lacks self-control. Proverbs 25:28)

The question is: are we all guilty of gluttony? Yes we all are at some point of our lives

Put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.

Stay Blessed
