Glycerine is consider as better mounting medium than water for the preparation of stained temporary mounts of onion peel and human cheek cell, why.?

Because glycerine do not evaporate easily and keep the specimen and slide wet . Water evaporate easily .thus ,glycerine is consider better mounting medium than water
