No glycerol and n - glyceraldehyde is not same .

The structutr of glycerol is OH -CH2 - oHCH - Ch2OH where as the structure of n - glyceraldehyde is

O=cH -HOCH - HOCH2

The aldehyde group is present in n - glyceraldehyde but in glycerol no such group is present and 3 alcohol group is attached to glycerol .

The aldehyde group make it more acidic to n - glyceraldehyde and also become less stable then glycerol .
