Glycolysis :
- Process of glycolysis occurs in cytoplasm .
- Two molecules of each that is pyruvic acid ATP , NADH2 and water are formed.
- It is also called known as Embden - Meyerhof - Parnas pathway ( EMP pathway ).
- No carbon dioxide is released .
TCA cycle ( TriCarboxylic Acid cycle ) :
- TCA cycle occurs in the mitochondria .
- Molecules of CO2 , H2O , NADH2 and FADH2 are formed .
- It is also called as Kreb's cycle .
- Carbon dioxide is released .
