Goa is a small state along the Konkan coast , so is Maharashtra . The state
of Goa was under the rule of the Portuguese for a long time even after the
remaining parts of today’s India were free from the British Colonial rule .
Fish is widely eaten by the people of both Maharashtra and Goa . However
the dishes are cooked very differently .They both are coastal states , but
yet there is a wide difference in the clothing food and religious practices of
these neighbouring States .
Q. In your view point why do we do see these differences in their clothing
and eating habits and traditions

Answer:
Goa was under the rule of the Portuguese for a long time even after the
remaining parts of today’s India were free from the British Colonial rule . So, their eating habits and clothing habits remain unchanged what was followed by Portuguese. Due to Portuguese rule over the state Goa for a long period, while complete India got freedom; this state has totally different culture, food and eating habits than Maharashtra.
