Gobind bought a vehivle for Rs 45000 and then brought some spare parts. He sold it at a loss of 20percent and got a selling price of Rs 40000.What is the amount spent by him to buy the spare parts​

The amount of spare parts bought by him is ₹ 5,000.

Solution :-

40,000 = 80% x (X) ........ where X denotes the total amount of vehicle including the spare parts.

Now,

40,000 = 80/100 (X)

40,000 x 100/80 = (X)

X = 50,000

As the vehicle's value is ₹45,000 then, price of spare parts is 50,000 - 45,000= ₹ 5,000
