The god of the Jews, Christians, and Muslims is often referred to, or addressed as, “God.”So while god is a common noun, it can be used as a proper noun in that context

diyamann68: i think if we specify the name of god then it is proper noun

<b><i><u>Answer:

Let's see first what is proper noun :-

PROPER NOUN : a name used for an individual person, place, or organization, spelled with an initial capital .

Now coming to the question ....

God is both proper noun and common noun. In monotheistic religions, like Christianity, Islam, Sikhism etc., it is 'God'.

When you are talking about the one, supreme being whose name is God, you capitalize. It's a proper noun.

Thanks for the question!!
