Goel's mother kept a box of chocolates in the refrigerator. Goel put up a daily plan of how many chocolates he would consume in the week. He represented that as diminishing stock as 60, 48, 38, 28, 24, 20, 18. Mother said that his plan would be approved, provided he corrected one of the figures to make it a proper series. Which one did goel correct?

Answer:

28

Step-by-step explanation:

he had 60 then remove 12 48 then remove 10=38 the he had to remove 8 so the answer would be 30 instead of 28

Answer:

Goel corrects 28 and change it to 30.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Series of number = 60 , 48 , 38 , 28 , 24 , 20 , 18

We need to replace a number so that the obtained series is a proper one which follows a fix pattern.

Clearly Given series is not following any pattern.

60 - 48 = 12

48 - 38 = 10

38 - 28 = 10

28 - 24 = 4

24 - 20 = 4.

20 - 18 = 2

From 1st 2 differences and last 2 differences its clear that for each next term difference is also decreasing by 2.

So, if we replace 28 by 30 we get proper series.

difference we get,

38 - 30 = 8

30 - 24 = 6

Therefore, Goel corrects 28 and change it to 30.
