"The Unexpected turn"
It was the month of March. My final exams had just begun. I had to stay up late almost every day since I was very anxious about how would score in the exams. On the morning of my Mathematics paper, somehow I missed my alarm and ended up leaving fifteen minutes late from my home. Nervousness and anxiety had crossed every limit. As I hurried to school on my bicycle, suddenly I heard a loud crash sound near the roundabout in front. When I reached there, I was shocked to see a car that had crashed into a tree on the corner of the road.
Since the road edges were steep, it was a very accident-prone area. Without wasting a moment I left my cycle on the road and rushed towards the car. Inside there was a man who's head was injured and blood kept flowing out. I pressed my handkerchief to his forehead to prevent the blood from flowing.
Luckily a van passed by in a few minutes, the driver of which agreed to take us to the nearby hospital. After admitting the insured man and giving my statement to the doctors and police constables, I suddenly realised that I had missed my exam. Although I hurried back to school and explained my circumstances to the teacher, she could not help me anyhow. Sadly I went back home and told my mother about the day. The most important paper of my finals exams had been ruined.
Later that evening, I received an unexpected call. It was from the police headquarters. They wanted to recommend me for the citizen award to award my bravery. In addition to that, they had also contacted my school authorities and had managed to convince them to hold a retest for me.
Tears of happiness rolled down my face.
