gold crystallises in ccp structure. The total number of voids present in 197 g of gold will be if (Au =197)

RebelStar: ccp means?
vidhi20oct: cubic closed packing
RebelStar: ok

here as compounds is 1mole and 1mole consist of 1Na (6.022x10^23)
so, as it is ccp lattice their are both ocatahedral and tetrahedral void present
so, 1Na for Octa and 2 Na for tetra = 3 Na voids

vidhi20oct: ohhh yeah got it
harsh3374chauhan: hmm ☺
vidhi20oct: 1 for octa
vidhi20oct: edit it again
vidhi20oct: 2 for @tetra
harsh3374chauhan: ya...
harsh3374chauhan: u should mark him yr brainlist
harsh3374chauhan: he has worked so hard
vidhi20oct: ypp but i have marked n cant mark again

☺HERE IS YOUR ANS ☺

total no. of voids = 3n

if the no. of atoms = n

so,, to find total voids we find number of atoms present in 197g of AU

so,, n(no. of moles) = w/m

n = 197/197 = 1

no. of molecules = avogadro no. × moles

= 6.023×10²³ × 1

no. of atoms = 1× 1 × 6.023× 10²³
= 6.023×10²³

so, the total no. of voids = 3(no. of atoms )

= 18.069 ×10²³

hope it helps u

vidhi20oct: ya i understand
vidhi20oct: thanks for the answer
