Answer:
WHAT IS GOLD LEAF ELECTROSCOPE AND IT'S CONSTRUCTION?
The gold leaf electroscope is the oldest electrical decive which was developed in 1787. It is used to detect and identify the kind of charge. It mainly consists of a metallic disc and rod, fitted in a glass jar through an insulating cork. Two gold leaves or strips are mounted at the other end of the rod. When the disc is touched by a charged body(Induction), the charge is transferred to the disc and flows through the rod to the leaves and thus the leaves are charged and diverges.
