Golgi bodies itself do not take part in the synthesis of proteins but participate in the modification and packing. The synthesis of proteins takes place In Ribosome along with the Endoplasmic Reticulum. After that they move to Golgi bodies for the modification before they are sent to their destination.

Golgi bodies, basically acts as a assembly line, assembles protein molecules in a vesicles before sent them out.
