What would be the reading of the ammeter and voltmeter when key is closed? Give reason to justify your answer.

The reading of the ammeter will be 0.24 A ans the reading of the voltmeter will be 2.88 V when key is closed .

• Net resistance of circuit = 5 + 8 + 12 = 25 ohm
• Net voltage across the circuit = 6 V
• Net current = 6 / 25 = 0.24 A
• The reading of the ammeter = 0.24 A .
• Voltage across 12 ohm resistor = 0.24 A * 12 ohm = 2.88 V
• The reading of the voltmeter = 2.88 V .
