Good afternoon everyone! I am Dorcas from 1B. Today, it is my honor to represent my class and deliver a speech to you.
Do you all believe in luck? Do you think that you get a good result in tests just because of luck? Well, I disagree with it. Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, once said, "I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it." It proves that luck is not everything, it only comes when we work hard.
What exactly is luck? Different people have different views about luck. In my point of view, luck is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of being open to new experiences, making us want to try new things. The more things we try, the luckier we are. Different countries also have different opinions about luck. There is a mascot that represents luck for every country. For example, Indians believe that a dream catcher protects them from nightmares, the money-bringing cat is regarded as a lucky mascot in Japan. Are these mascots helpful to bring luck? I doubt about it.
