if a object rotates on its own orbital then it's rotation.....like earth do on it's own axis..

if is revolve around any other object in a fixed orbit then it's revolution...like earth does around sun

1. Rotation involves a body turning about an axis inside of the body wheras Revolution Involves a body turning about an axis outside the body.
2. Rotation means movement in circle around an axis wheras Revolution means object moving in circular path around another object or center.
