Note: Velocity units are m/sec not m/sec^2, I guess we need to find the acceleration of recoil.

Answer:

We know newtons third law of motion , which states "every action has an equal and opposite reaction"

so the force applied by the body of the gun will be equal to the force acting as the reaction on the body of the gun.

force on bullet=force on gun body ;force=ma,where m=mass,a=acceleration

so,

mass of bullet×acceleration of bullet=mass of gun body × its acceleration

lets put the values of the mass and acceleration in there SI units.

20g=2×10^-2

(2×10^-2)×150=2kg×accelerationof the gun body recoil(a)

300×10^-2=2a

3=2a

a=3/2=1.5m/sec^2

∴the acceleration of the recoil of the body of gun will be  1.5m/sec^2
