In mathematics, the Pythagorean theorem, or Pythagoras's theorem, is a fundamental relation in Euclidean geometry among the three sides of a right triangle. It states that the area of the square whose side is the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the areas of the squares on the other two sides.

Answer:

basically Pythagoras theorem is

is a theorem specifically for right angled triangle ONLY

it was proposed by PYTHAGORAS a ancient Greek mathematician

he said that

in a right angled triangle

there are 3 sides

BASE (S1)

HEIGHT (S2)

HYPOTENUSE

basically HYPOTENUSE is the biggest side of a a right angled triangle , it's opposite to the right angle

so certainly theorem stated that

( {base)}^{2}  \:  +  \: ( {height)}^{2}  \:  \\ = ( {hypotenuse)}^{2}

hope it helps
