Maintain adequate overhead shade. Apply well-composted organic manure @ 10- 15 kg per plant to improve soil fertility. Apply balanced nutrients and follow good cultural operations to maintain the vigour of the plants. Use grafted plants (Arabica on robusta rootstock) for planting or replanting in the affected block.Jan

Answer:
Coffee, native of Ethiopia, was introduced into India sometime during 1600 AD by a Muslim pilgrim, BabaBudan on the hills near Chikmangalur. Now coffee
cultivation is mainly confined to the State of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh .
Climatological factor like rainfall, temperature, elevation and aspect can influence economic production of coffee much more than soil factors. Soil should
be deep, well drained, slightly acidic in reaction and rich in organic matter
content.
