GOOD CITIZENSHIP
Read the story given below and answer the question related to it. Student to get a catchy title.
Ranu was the only daughter of the poor farmer Bola Ram. She never went to school but helped
her father in the fields. The only toy that she had to play with was a small cart made of wood.
She loved it so much that she would drive it all around the field.
One day there was very heavy rain in the village and Ranu had gone to the near by forest to
gather wood. Looking at the sky dark she quickly marched to the nearby river where a bridge
had been constructed. She noticed that there was a hole in the bridge, which was allowing the
water to leak through .She thought for a while and then plugged her toy cart into the gap, which
fitted perfectly into the gap. She picked up courage and ran back to the village to alert everyone
about the crack in the bridge. Villagers immediately responded and brought sand bags and put
them near the wall, which was getting weaker, thus saving the village from the flood.
The news of Ranu saving the village from the flood spread everywhere, and she was honoured
by the President of India with the Bravery Award on the 26th of January.
