Subtract :- 5abc - 18a²bc from 20abc + 12ab²c - 4a²bc

\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{Answer :-}}}}

15abc + 12ab²c + 14a²bc

\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{Explanation :-}}}}

★ By Horizontal method :

⟹ 20abc + 12ab²c - 4a²bc - (5abc - 18a²bc)

⟹ 20abc + 12ab²c - 4a²bc - 5abc + 18a²bc

20abc - 5abc + 12ab²c - 4a²bc + 18a²bc

⟹15abc + 12ab²c + 14a²bc

\therefore The answer = 15abc + 12ab²c + 14a²bc

An expression which has a combination of constants and variables connected to each other by one or more operation (+,-,×,÷) is called an algebraic expression.

Example :- 5x + y is an algebraic expression.

This expression has two parts 5x and y. Each part of the above expression is called a term.

5x is a term having the factors 5 and x,5 is called the numerical coefficient of the term and x is a variable. y is the other term of the expression.

first term in an algebraic expression is an expression involving letters and/or numbers (called Factors), Multiplied together.

There can be more than one term in an algebraic expression. The terms are separated from each other by plus or a minus sign.
