-A coil is the spiral loop of insulated copper wire. Whereas solenoid is a cylindrical wire which acts as a magnet when electricity is passed.

-The magnet is kept in the coils of the wire.

-Also, a solenoid is longer in diameter when compared to the coil.  

Thus solenoid is created from the loops of the coils.
