I had a doubt in this question
I do know how to solve this question but instead of solving for A², 2AB and B² seperately, can I simplify A² - 2AB + B² to (A-B)²?
If I solve the question this way, will my marks be deducted in ICSE board?
Please assist.

I don't think the answers for (A - B)^2 and A^2 - 2AB + B^2 will match.

because that formula is for simple values ,

It changes in case of matrices.

Because if it could be shortened like this , then why would they ask this lengthy procedure in exam.
