Answer :

1. 15y² - 8y + 1

= 15y² - 3y - 5y + 1

= 3y (5y - 1) - (5y - 1)

= (5y - 1)(3y - 1)

2. x² - 5x - 24

= x² + 3x - 8x - 24

= x × ( x + 3 ) - 8 ( x + 3 )

= ( x + 3 )( x - 8)
