Fleming’s left hand rule:

Significance:

Fleming’s left hand rule can be applied to find the direction of the thrust on a conductor carrying a current in a magnetic field.

The rule is as follows:

The left hand is held such that the thumb, index finger and middle finger are mutually at right angles to each other.

The index finger represents the direction of the magnetic field. (North to South).

The middle finger represents the direction of the current.
