Once an American boy from the navy washed up in his house. He was a prisoner of war and was deeply wounded. This put Sadao in a conflict of duties. As a Japanese he should hand over the American to the police, on the other hand as a doctor he has to save his life. Dr Sadao decided to save his life and help him to escape after which he informed the army general officer. Thus Dr Sadao succeeds as a doctor as well as a patriot.
