Plant Growth - Plant growth is the result of anabolic process which leads to increase in the size of an organ, individual cells and parts of the plant.

• It is irreversible which means this growth is permanent.

• Plant growth is unlimited due to apical meristematic tissue but some parts of the plant have limited growth like leaves, flowers and fruits.

Characteristics of the plant growth-

Plant growth is open because new cells are added in the plant body by the activity of meristem.

• Plant growth is localised because plant growth is restricted to certain position or location (apical apical, meristem intercalary meristem and lateral meristem).

Types of Plant Growth-

It is of two types

1. Primary Growth- There will be increase in length due to primary merismatic tissue.

2. Secondary Growth- In occurs in dicot plants only in which increase in girth due to secondary merismatic tissue is seen.

About plant growth:-

First of all groeth of plants takes due to growth of the coutcome cell and when the new cells are formed aslo there will be a parmanent ,ever echange in the size of the plants even this sometimes increase in length and they get a weight.

Characteristics of plant growth:-

Plant hormones, also known as phytohormones, are chemicals that regulate plant growth.

Plant hormones are signaling molecules and are produced in plants in very small quantities.

Hormones regulate cellular processes in locally targeted cells and when they reach other places in the plant, they regulate cellular processes.

Plants do not have glands for the production and secretion of hormones like animals.
