Answer:

Finite verbs change their forms when there is a change in the number or person of the subject. ... Non-finite verbs do not change their form when the number or person of the subject changes. There are mainly three types of non-finite verbs: infinitives, gerunds and participles.

A finite verb is a form of verb that -

a) shows agreement with the subject

b) marked for tense

Eg - Girls love dolls.

Formula is singular / plural subject + singular / plural verb

Non- finite three types

a) Infinitive - to + any verb

b) Participle - past , present and future ( shows tense )

c) Gerunds - ing form of verb ( function of noun and verb) answers the question what

eg - smoking is prohibited - smoking is gerund , it looks verb but is a noun gerund here

How to identify ?

If sentence has finite verbs - is , etc will have a main verb after it

And if the sentence has infinitive , gerund or participle then non finite
