tropic movements are movements which is related to growth eg: the stem grows towards the sun and the roots grow towards the water.

mastic movements are not related to growth but related to the response of the stimulus

eg: when we touch a touch me not plant it suddenly closes it's leaf

Tropic Movement

1) Tropic movement is a paratonic movement of growth.

2) The tropic movement are related to the direction of stimuli.

3) Tropic movement are shown by plant organs with radial symmetry(such as root & stem).

4) Example:- movement of shoot towards the sunlight.

Nastic Movement

1) Nastic movement are paratonic movement of variation.

2) Nastic movement are not related to the direction of stimuli.

3) Nastic movement are quick movement.

4) Drooping of the leaves of mimosa pudica due to touch.
