Arresters:- In the separation of particulates from contaminated air these are used.

It is of two types:-

1. Cyclonic separatory:- It is also known as trajectory separators. This type is generally used in separation of particulate matters from industrial emissions which has very minimal moisture content.

2. Electrostatic precipitator:- It is the most efficient device to remove particulate pollutants. It is a type of device which works on the principle of collecting it on a differently charged platform and electrical charging of the dust particles.
