Given : Gopal invested equal amounts of money in four different investment schemes in the year 2012 .

2012  to 2016  - 20 % , 25 % , -10% , - 10 %

2016 to 2020 -   10 % , 12 %   , 30 %  ,  10 %

To find :  the percentage  growth in his overall investments from 2012 to 2020

Solution:

Let say Each Amount = 100 A

Total Amount = 400A

schemes yielded 20%   become = 100A + (20/100)100A = 120A

schemes yielded 25%   become = 100A + (25/100)100A = 125A

Scheme yielded 10% loss = 100A -  (10/100)100A = 90A

120A  further 10 %  = 120A + (10/100)120A = 132A

125A further 12 % = 125A + (12/100)125A  = 140A

90  further 30 % = 90A + (30/100)90A   =  117A

90A further 10%  = 90A + (10/100)90A   =  99A

Total = 132A + 140A + 117A + 99A

= 488A

488A - 400A  = 88A

the percentage  growth in his overall investments from 2012 to 2020

= (88A/400A) * 100

= 22 %

option C is correct
