let tony's age = x and gordon's age =2x
a.t.q.
x + 2x = 112
3x = 112
x = 112 /3
x = 37.33 years
tony =x
= 37.33 years
gordon = 2x
= 2 * x
= 2* 37.33
= 74.66 years
i hope this may help you

Answer:

Solution:-

Let Gordon's age be 'G' years and Tony's age be 'T' years.

So, G + T = 112 years .........(1)

Their age difference is (G - T). We know that Gordon is two times (how old Tony was when Gordon was Tony's age), so we need to take their age difference from Tony's current age. it is as follows.

2 × {T - (G - T)} = G

2 × {T - G + T} = G

2T - 2G + 2T = G

4T - 2G = G

4T = G + 2G

4T = 3G

T = 3G/4

Putting the value of T = 3G/4 in equation (1), we get

G + 3G/4 = 112

7G = 112*4

7G = 448

G = 448/7

G = 64

So, the present age of Gordon is 64 Years and Tony's age is = 112 - 64 = 48 years.
