Government jobs ( or ) Self-employment which is better ( Debate )

I'd say it depends on what do you think is better. 
If money - getting a job in sales or engineering might get you 5 digit salary, benefits, but will require a lot of time away from home and/or long hours at work.

If you are starting a life style business (selling scarves you do as a hobbie), making just enough to pay bills, but having flexibility at the same time, could be another side of it.

If you are starting something in your own, you have to have a plan for growth, or at least work hard to get there (search for idea, develop your product, talk to customers, etc).
