Since independence many rural development programmes have been taken by the Govt.of India and various State Govts. and implementing it through Five Year Plans.
 Some of these programmes are:

Government has implemented many different programmes for the welfare of the farmers, many 5 yr programmes. Their policies for the upliftment of farmers include ensuring proper supply of pests and fertilisers, to see that they r provided with quality seeds. They r given suitable surroundings and other necessary things so that they can earn a living and produce sufficient crops....
