Answer:

Area = Length × Breadth = 440 m2

22 × Breadth = 440

Breadth == 20 m

Perimeter = 2 (Length + Breadth)

= 2 (22 + 20) = 2 (42) = 84 m2

Correct question :-

1) If one side of a square is represented by 16x - 25 units and the adjacent side is represented by

31 - 12 x, Find the length of the side

of the square.

2) Property of a square is :-

a) All the sides are different

b) Only opposite sides are equal, adjacent sides are not equal

c) All the sides are of equal length

d) none of the above

Solution :-

1. We know that in a square all the sides are of equal length. [ refer fig. 1 ]

Therefore, according to the question :-

=> 16x - 25 = 31 - 12x

=> 16x + 12x = 31 +25

=> 28x = 56

=> x = 56/28

=> x = 2

Now to find out length of a side of square put x = 2 in 16x - 25 .

=>( 16×2)- 25

=>32 - 25

=>32 - 25

=> 7 units

Length of the side of the square = 7 units

2. Option (c) All the sides are of equal length is correct.

=> In square all the sides are of equal length and all angles are of 90°.
