• During my grandparents time people communicated with each other through handwritten letters. They used to send letters to their near and dear ones through post offices which used to take sometimes days to be delivered. The post office was a medium or an established large network used for passing letters.
• Sometimes people also communicated by passing the message to persons who used to visit the place where the person to whom the message was to be communicated lived. After the invention of telegrams, people started communicating through telegrams. A telegram is a written message communicated utilizing an electric device.
• The message was transmitted from one person to the other person over the wire to a telegraph operator and then it was handwritten and delivered to the recipient's registered address. Telegrams were used mostly to convey critical and urgent information and when such important information was needed to be transmitted speedily.
